The Retail Book Association
The Retail Book Association is an independent
, democratic Trade Union, whose only purpose
is to look after the employment interests of
its members.
Anyone can be a member, in any walk of life,
and no worker can be made to attend a formal
grievance or disciplinary interview without
the benefit of Union representation.
The RBA has thousands of members, management
and staff, mainly from within Retail employment.
It is controlled by its members via elected
Representatives and Officials and managed on
a day to day basis by a full time President
elected from the membership, David Pickles.

The Union also employs professional staff and
Officers, who, like David, work from RBA Central
Office.
They are available twelve hours a day, seven
days a week, by calling 01793 841414, and are
well able to advise and assist members on all
employment related matters.
The RBA is excellent in ensuring that no member
stands alone when faced with a problem at work.
It also recovers hundreds of thousands of pounds
in damages for those members unfortunate to
have an accident, all at no cost to the member.
To provide this service does require finance,
and this comes from members' subscriptions,
which range from £2.99 to a maximum
of £10.35 per month, depending upon salary
and the level of service provided.
